- A patient with an eating disorder presents with a range of other symptoms in the years leading up to diagnosis.
- Validated questionnaires are a helpful tool for detecting an eating disorder early, so that timely referral can be made.
Introduction
Anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa are psychiatric disorders with often severe somatic consequences, categorized under the chapter of feeding and eating disorders in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fifth edition (DSM-5).
